During the busy month of October, Seán Lemass Public Library hosted the presentation of certificates to children from Shannon, Sixmilebridge and Newmarket-on-Fergus who completed this year's Creepy House Summer Reading Challenge. During the summer months, children read 6 books and were rewarded with stickers and other incentives to help them along the way. Almost 300 children from the three libraries completed the challenge. The presentation took place on Wednesday 16th October and Mayor of Shannon, Cllr. Greg Duff was on hand to present the certificates. Afterwards, the children and their parents, and not forgetting library staff, were entertained by the Captain Jack show. The evening was hugely enjoyable and it was thrill to see so many young readers being rewarded for their fantastic efforts.
