"Research carried out in preparation for the National Famine Commemoration 2013 and the accompanying events held in the former Kilrush Poor Law Union served both to highlight the material remains from the Great Famine period which can still be clearly seen in west Clare, and to draw attention to other remains which may lie hidden or may have completely disappeared. A selection of such remains are highlighted in this short and hurriedly compiled documentary film submitted to the National Famine Commemoration Committee by Clare County Council in October 2012 in support of Kilrush's application to host the event. The film was scripted by Paul O'Brien and Paddy Waldron, narrated by Paddy Waldron, and filmed by Neil Hynes."
