"Micho Russell (March 15, 1915 -- February 19, 1994) was an Irish musician from County Clare and author best known for his expert tin whistle performance. He also played the simple-system flute and was a collector of traditional music and folklore. This track is mainly a narrative by Micho himself in his own unique style. It begins with some music on the tin whistle. That is followed by an account of of his musical rambling and roving to the USA, to England and to Germany. The recording ends with the song 'In Our Own Dear Land' which seems to be a patriotic ballad of 19th century origin." Posted on Youtube on the 29th of September 2013 by muisire.
